United Auto Workers union members went on strike Saturday in Indiana at Stellantis casting facility.

This 35-acre Kokomo plant makes parts for the powertrains of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.

A strike on the long-term could impact North American vehicle production lines.

Stellantis stated that production was not scheduled for this weekend, and it hoped that negotiations could resume as soon as possible with the striking UAW Local 1166.

Stellantis says that Kokomo Casting's 1,200-worker facility is the largest die casting facility in the world.
